Policy
AI safety and child protection
Most people who use gyosil.app are elementary school students. These rules apply everywhere AI is used, and any change is announced on this page first. This is an English translation of our Korean policy.
1. We always say when something was made by AI
- Feedback in Dadeum (writing notebook) is labeled “AI feedback” on screen and kept separate from teacher comments.
- News Classroom and Bookmoon state in the service information and on the page that articles and questions are created with AI.
- AI never speaks as if it were a person, and we never publish interviews disguised as real people.
2. Children do not chat freely with AI
- gyosil.app has no chatbot where students can ask anything.
- The only place a student meets AI directly is Dadeum’s writing feedback. It returns only what to fix, why, and a score per area for the student’s own text, limited to once per text and three times per day.
- Dadeum is used only inside a class created by a teacher, and the teacher can see every text and every piece of feedback.
3. Content is verified before it reaches students
- News Classroom. We use only facts reported in common by multiple outlets, and a verification step separate from the writing step rechecks facts, vocabulary level and answer keys. Only topics that pass automated checks are published. Sensitive topics such as accidents or violence get an additional safety review, and videos likely to contain shocking scenes are filtered by title. Publication is automatic; the operator reviews the text and videos after publication and fixes or removes problems immediately. Not every video is watched by a person before publication, so teachers are advised to preview videos before class.
- Bookmoon. AI-generated text and images are checked by a person for facts and wording before they are published. Photos come from free sources with credits.
- Math problem generators. Math King’s generators are checked by automated tests for correct answers and question format before deployment.
4. AI never does the learning for the child
AI does not write answers for students. In Dadeum, students must read the feedback and revise the text themselves before they can submit it. We use AI only as a tool that helps children think and improve their own work. We also publish five AI rules for students (Korean) for teachers to read aloud in class.
5. We protect children’s personal information
- We comply with Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act. Personal information of children under 14 is processed only with the consent of a legal guardian or consent obtained through school procedures.
- Most services work without a login and keep learning records only on the device in use.
- Dadeum student accounts are created by teachers, and students sign in with a QR card. Student writing is sent to an external AI model (currently OpenAI; students never interact with Claude directly) only when feedback is requested; feedback usage logs are used only for rate limiting and deleted after 30 days.
- Screens that students use show no ads. Ads appear only on teacher-facing pages of gyosil.app (the home page, service introductions and teaching guides), never on policy, safety, company or login pages.
- Students and guardians can request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information at any time. See our privacy summary and each service’s own policy.
6. Scope
gyosil.app is a Korean-language service for schools and families in the Republic of Korea, operated under Korean law. It is not directed at children in other countries.
7. Report a problem
If you find a factual error, wording unsuitable for children, or anything that raises a safety concern in AI-generated content, email jinsyu@gyosil.app. Put [Safety] in the subject line and we will check it first, taking the content down until the check is complete if needed.
